DIY Vape Juice: the homemade cheap e liquid option
If you are up for making some experiments, you might choose to be creative and mix your own e liquid. Herefore you can use the same ingredients, but with a lot more flexibility. DIY e liquid is actually the cheapest way of vaping. And of course, there are a lot of passionate vapers, who share their experiences on how to mix the perfect DIY vape juice, you can find our article on that here.
First you have to mix together the main elements of your own e liquid (vape juice), these are:
– PG (Propylene Glycol)
– VG (Vegetable Glycerine)
– E Liquid Concentrates.
Of course, adding nicotine or an e liquid flavour concentrate is just an option, you do not necessarily need them. When mixing the base of your vape juice, you have to decide what PG/VG ratio you want to have. Propylene Glycol is a petroleum by-product, that has no colour or odour at all. Vegetable Glycerine is more viscous than PG, it is a thick liquid, that produces clouds of vapour and gives your vape juice a sweeter taste. For a smoking-similar vaping experience: choose a higher PG ratio, as Propylene Glycol is used to provide a ‘throat hit’. Most common ratios are 50/50 or 70/30, but we encourage you to experiment with the base ratio. Make sure both come from reliable sources and are pharmaceutical grade.
Adding Flavour to your DIY vape juice
Now it is time to define the taste of your vape juice, your DIY e liquid. For this you will need e liquid concentrates. Make sure to buy an e liquid flavour concentrate and no essential oils or other stuff. At the beginning you might want to try out different kind of e liquid concentrates, we recommend you one of our top-rated products: the T-Juice Red Astaire E Liquid Concentrate. It has a fruity, menthol flavour. For the best result, we recommend a 15-20% concentrate within the final mix.
After mixing all ingredients together, it is time for steeping your DIY vape juice, as the e liquid concentrates need time to settle. There are e liquid flavour concentrates, that do not need any steeping at all, commonly these are fruity flavours, but the cream-based mixes sometimes need up to 4 weeks. Please make sure to store your steeping DIY e liquid off from sunlight, heat and oxygen – choose a dark and cool place for your vape juice.
